Data Sources
Overview of the public statistical sources and derived data used by Atlias.
Public statistical sources
Atlias is built from public statistical datasets and metadata. The core cost of living indicators currently rely mainly on European public statistical sources such as Eurostat datasets.
The website is independent and is not affiliated with Eurostat, the European Union, national statistical institutes or public authorities.
Indicators and derived values
Atlias may transform source data into derived indicators, rankings, gaps, benchmarks and trend summaries in order to make comparisons easier to read.
Derived values are based on the underlying public observations. They are intended to support exploration, not to replace the original statistical source.
Geographic coverage
Geographic coverage depends on the source dataset. Some indicators support European countries only, while others support both countries and NUTS2 regions.
When regional coverage is not available for a country or indicator, Atlias may still show a country-level page if a reliable national observation exists.
Updates and revisions
Public datasets can be revised by their providers. Atlias may refresh its database when updated data becomes available.
Because update schedules vary by dataset, the latest available year may differ across indicators.
